‘Concept’ is an archive of initial reactions, of first thoughts, of the archetypal sketch on a napkin. It is a celebration of the sketch and of the first spark of an idea before it has solidified.

Sketches from all creative walks come together to create a room of possibilities. Some are ideas which have not come into fruition but are beautiful pieces in themselves, others express the potential of work to come, while still others are recognisable within their final forms. ‘Concept’ catches an ephemeral moment – the start of a process, a fleeting thought which is often consigned to the waste basket, but is displayed here as a record of such sparks.

This year’s Postcards From the Edge benefit for Visual AIDS is the most successful event ever had! More than 1,200 people came out to see the show and collect some art – and to date over $113,000 has been raised!

Postcards From The Edge is an exhibition and benefit sale of over 1500 original, postcard-sized works of art by internationally renowned and emerging artists. Each piece is exhibited anonymously, and the identity of the artist is revealed only after the work is purchased. Whether you walk away with a piece by a famous artist, or someone making their debut, you are sure to find something you love! It is the most exciting and affordable way to add to your art collection.

Benefit Sale is first-come, first served. $5 suggested admission. Works are signed on the back and displayed anonymously. Artist’s name revealed only after purchase. Cash, check or credit card (MC VISA AMEX) accepted. More details here.

By participating in Postcards From the Edge artists and collectors support the activities of Visual AIDS, enabling the organization to produce AIDS-focused contemporary art programs and provide supplies and assistance to artists living with HIV/AIDS, many who are unable to continue producing work without such support. All Postcards From the Edge proceeds support the programs of Visual AIDS.

Kim will be participating in Postcards From The Edge, an annual benefit sale and exhibition of postcard-size artworks. This year’s event will be held January 29-31, 2016 at Sikkema Jenkins & Co.
